Another
Address Change!
It seems like such a short time since we announced a mailing
address change (in fact it has been over a year), BUT there's more to
the story. We have also affiliated with a different church because of
the move.
Since we are now based in Payson, Arizona, and spend more time there
than in any other single place, it only made sense to work with a local
church in town. Ponderosa Baptist Church is where we have chosen to
affiliate, and they have graciously allowed us to move our base of
ministry operations there. YOU MAY HAVE NOTICED the new return address
on this letter. That is the address we use for the mailings and other
official business. HOWEVER, PLEASE NOTE that we are still using the HC
box (at the bottom of this web page) for all personal AND ministry
correspondence that should come directly to us.
In Everything, Give
Thanks
We had a most interesting day on our recent travel day
to home base! We had been ministering in several small communities in
western Arizona and were headed back to Payson for a couple of weeks to
work on final preparations for our extended tour. Pulling our “house”
from Congress, Arizona we had about a 4 hour time span in mind for
getting back to Payson. In Fountain Hills, we decided to stop for a
bite to eat and, as we slowed to turn into the parking lot, Joy
commented about a noise we were hearing. It sounded like a flat tire on
the trailer, but a quick glance in the mirrors showed no evidence of
that. We slowed some more and made the right turn into the parking lot
when I felt a strange “bump” in the way the trailer followed. Looking
in the mirror, I could see that the “house” was definitely sagging on
the left. At that point, a man pulled his SUV alongside and said, “you
lost a tire”.
Boy were we surprised! I got out to look at the tires and, sure enough,
the left rear tire was missing completely, including the wheel. I
walked back to the curb where we had turned in (about 30 feet back) and
found the wheel laying on the driveway.
I have to admit, my first response wasn't to give thanks to God for
this event. However, it didn't take long for me to realize that the
tire could have come off at a different time. IF that had happened even
ONE MINUTE earlier, we would have been descending a hill at
approximately 50 mph! Now THAT would have been a surprise! Instead, we
were moving about 2-3 mph and NOT in traffic. We are so thankful for
that.
In 1 Thessalonians 5:18, we read that it is God's will for us to give
thanks in every thing. That doesn't mean that every circumstance is
pleasant. I would have much preferred a short stop, and sandwich, and
back on the road, but we were in the hot parking lot for about 5 hours
getting parts and repairing the “house”. Nevertheless, we are thankful
that God knows what I am going through and, in verse 24 of that
chapter, it reminds us that He is always faithful to complete what he
is doing in our lives.

Since we don't have the concert schedule completed yet,
please keep checking our Concert schedule
page to see where we will be during the coming months. In the print
version of this letter, you will see the concerts that are confirmed,
but many more in the planning stages were still unconfirmed as of print
date, so check back often. We hope to see you soon.
Blessings,
